(2024 Nov. 6, after the election, I wrote:)
I woke this morning to sunlight shimmering on the pool water and a warm breeze blanketing my body as I stepped onto the terrace.
Minutes later, I read the news. I had been avoiding opening my phone. Dread filled the space in my chest that had been prepared for a different outcome. A chill ran up my spine, the warmth of the day evaporating. The sun dimmed behind a cloud.
"Who are we?" I asked out loud. "Who are we that this would happen to our country, to our world? This choice to hate, to divide, to diminish?"
A voice whispered in my ear. "You are still you. The lightkeepers are still keepers of the light. The compassionate warriors are still who they were yesterday. Be your truth. Remember who you are. You must be greater in the face of greater odds. Do not lose faith. Do not lose hope. There will be a corner to turn, and you will stand with them when the time comes."
I share this with all of you. Receive it or not; it's up to you. May it penetrate your pain, grief, and despair and continue to remind you, even in the face of this loss, that love will always prevail. Right now, these words spoken to me this morning are difficult to believe, let alone integrate.
I will be quiet this morning, walking the cliffs as I do, this time for solace. At some point, I will believe again that love is more powerful than fear, and it will prevail in the face of momentous odds.
I send all of you my love - because that is what we still have together. That will be our light in the darkness.
I needed to read this today. As always, thanks for sharing your Wisdom. 🙏
